The Church Bar and Restaurant Welcomes You To Relax and Dine

We welcome diners to enjoy our building food wine & service . The food we serve is all sourced locally and our intention is to serve simple traditional English food well, we hope you will enjoy what we do.

The Church Bar and Restaurant was built in 1860 by Welsh Methodist miners who came to this area to find work. In 1920 the National Spiritualist Union took over the church. In 2006 I purchased the church and at this time it was in a state of disrepair and unused. I have restored the church in order for it to become once again a place for people to meet and enjoy its wonderful architecture and ambience. I sincerely hope that you enjoy your visit and make this building a hive of activity once again, thank you for your custom, regards Diane & the Team

Please be aware that the floor in the restaurant area is the original wooden floor and therefore could cause problems to ladies (or gents) with stiletto heels and can at times be slippy, also the chairs in the restaurant whilst capturing the essence of the church with their spiked pinnacle need to be negotiated with care..

For diners who wish to smoke there is a heated patio area to the rear of the bar lounge , please ask the bar staff
